Margot Robbie’s speech read by producing partners after LuckyChap wins award, know why
LuckyChap Entertainment was honored with the Power of Women Producer of the Year award by Dua Lipa. As Robbie has lost her voice her speech was read by her producing partners, who filled the event with jokes.

While presenting the award Lipa at the Variety Power of Women dinner, presented by Lifetime said that LuckyChap has been championing female filmmakers since 2014.
“This mission is part of the company’s ethos – celebrating female storytellers and strong female characters, and employing female HODs – but if you speak with Margot [Robbie], Tom [Ackerley] and Josey [McNamara] they’ll tell you – it’s just good business,” the singer added.
It may be mentioned that Robbie founded LuckyChap with her husband Ackerley and friends McNamara and Sophia Kerr in 2014.
She further said, “As filmmakers, the LuckyChap team lead with humor, empathy and heart every step of the way. They are involved in every facet of their projects — from creating immersive practical environments on set, which became home to a truly epic dance party in the film, to heartfelt moments where audiences around the world were challenged with the idea of what it means to be human”.
Lipa also said that LuckyChap's global success was due to their incredible visionaries, who “Two years ago, had the foresight to push forward on what could’ve been a risky move,” the billion-dollar blockbuster, Barbie.”
McNamara and Ackerley, while thanking all their fellow honorees, announced that they would be speaking on behalf of their producing partner Robbie, who recently lost her voice. They revealed that she had written a speech but never shared it with them.
Ackerley read Robbie's speech which said that her LuckyChap partners, “use her as a bit of a crutch for these public-facing sort of things”. The entire ceremony saw jokes between the two who were speaking for a woman.
