Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has received criticism for saying that if former President Donald Trump is prosecuted for misusing government documents, there will be political violence.

At a political meeting in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, President Joe Biden seemed to criticize Graham without explicitly addressing him, 'The idea that prominent politicians and senators are warning that there will be blood in the streets if this or that happens, Where the hell are we?'

Graham commented that Trump supporters had intensified their attacks on law enforcement in response to the Mar-a-Lago inquiry. At least one man used it as justification to attack an FBI office in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was later shot and killed by police.

Lindsey Graham compared Donald Trump's and Clinton's cases

The inquiry against Trump and the judgment not to charge Hillary Clinton for using a private server were juxtaposed by Senator Lindsey Graham.

According to a State Department inquiry into the server conducted in 2019, there was no conclusive indication of intentional misuse of classified information.

In particular, inspections of Clinton's access to a private server for an email containing confidential material while she was secretary of state led to no charges being pressed against the Democratic candidate for president in 2016, who ran against Trump.

The two cases, however, are not comparable. In each case, the FBI opened criminal investigations and obtained search warrants to access the vital records. In conclusions made public in July 2016, the FBI noted that in Clinton's case, the unauthorized transmission of classified information had occurred due to negligence rather than a purpose to break the law.

Clinton's information was of a higher caliber than Donald Trump's

The secret information discovered on Hillary Clinton's email servers was different from that acquired at Mar-a-Lago when it comes to highly sensitive Special Access Programs. On Clinton's computers, investigators found seven email exchanges connected to and related to a Special Access Program.

Although the investigation into Donald Trump's case is still ongoing, evidence of the former President taking properly classified secret materials from the White House was provided by a document receipt and a public search warrant from an FBI raid.

Trump denied the accusations and called the FBI 'Dishonest'

The Justice Department publicly disclosed the redacted document that justified the Friday inspection of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. The affidavit describes months of discussions between Trump's staff and the National Archives and Records Administration to obtain the restoration of records that were illegally removed from the White House.

Since the publication of the largely redacted affidavit outlining the Mar-a-Lago raid, Trump has also proceeded to rail against the search, accusing the DOJ and FBI of being dishonest and protesting that the declaration was heavily masked to protect the sources and procedures of the FBI.
