Maple Leafs picks of 2022 NHL Draft , Did Toronto pick yet? Here are all the details

Maple Leafs team going into an offseason coming off a first-round playoff loss for another year. While the outcome was the same as the last few seasons, Toronto need not have a busy offseason with major alterations. A core is there which will surely make it beyond the first rounds of the playoffs and make it a legit Cup competitor.

However, with the attention moving toward the draft, the preparations for the Maple Leafs definitely wouldn’t be as much as other teams. Going into the draft, Toronto has just three choices to make, which are tied along with the Flames.

The Leafs will be choosing No. 25 on the first day of the draft. On the second day, they're supposed to make a third-round selection at No. 79 overall and in round seven at No. 218.

With a team that is full of talent and stacked, the Leafs shouldn’t worry too much about the scarcity of draft picks.

The Maple Leafs are in a good zone as a team. The wing position might be the biggest requirement on the NHL agenda, but most of the team's top opportunities (Nick Robertson, Matthew Knies, Rodion Amirov) in the organization are wingers.


While the strongest component on the team is the center because of Auston Matthews and John Tavares, is the Achilles heel in Toronto's prospect pool. The Leafs have Roni Hirvonen and Nick Abruzzese, who are also wing players, but post that, it's a bit bleak. Toronto should for sure make a center with their selective picks.
