Madonna's near-death experience: The horrific details of her hospital dash

American singer and actor Madonna faced a serious health scare in June, being hospitalized with a bacterial infection that led to her being induced into a coma for 48 hours.

Bacterial infections can affect various body parts, such as the skin, blood, brain, and lungs. While they may cause mild symptoms, severe cases can lead to complications like sepsis, a life-threatening condition. Madonna reportedly needed the drug Narcan to combat deadly septic shock before receiving medical care.

The pop star shared details of her ordeal during her 'Celebration' tour at Brooklyn's Barclay's Centre and expressed gratitude towards those who supported her during the challenging time.


Madonna thanked a woman named Shavawn, who took her to the hospital after she passed out on her bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU. She credited Shavawn with saving her life. The singer also acknowledged her Kabbalah teacher, Eitan Yardeni, who stayed by her side during the induced coma, saying that his voice was the only one she heard during that time.

During her address to the audience, Madonna reflected on the experience and expressed appreciation for the presence of her six children around her when she regained consciousness. She humorously remarked that she had to "almost die" to gather all her children in one room.

Madonna emphasized that she doesn't take anything for granted and expressed gratitude for being alive. This incident led her to postpone her 'Celebration' tour due to the health scare.
