Lucy Letby will be sentenced on Monday after being found guilty of killing seven babies and attempting to kill six others. What punishment will she get?

The jurors found that the nurse deliberately injected the babies with air or poisoned them with insulin in Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016. She has also been found guilty of feeding some babies an excessive quantity of milk and physically assaulting at least one of them.
Nurse Letby and her parents were not present in the court when the verdict was delivered, but the family members of the victims were there. Letby was present in the court on August 8 when verdict on two counts of murder was declared and she left the courtroom with tears in her eyes. The jury could not come to a verdict on six counts of attempted murder.
Meanwhile, the Cheshire Police has said that they are reviewing the care of about 4,000 babies who were born at the hospital or admitted there in 2012 when Letby was working there.
The Department of Health has said that an independent probe will be launched to examine the circumstances under which this kind of crime was committed. Letby will be sentenced on Monday.
The trial court was told that Letby was a “constant malevolent presence” and many times healthy babies under her care deteriorated quickly. The concern over her work was raised first time in 201 when two babies under her care died in two weeks. She continued to work for another 12 months after this, she was removed from her medical duties and was assigned clerical duties in July 2016.
The trial court was also told that she was suspected of trying to kill a baby in February 2016 when a doctor entered her room.
