Louisville did not have a great start this season. In the game with Syracuse, Louisville lost. In the first week, Ole Miss transfer John Rhys Plumlee led the upbeat University of Central Florida (UCF) offence with 308 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In the third quarter, Louisville’s defence, Momo Sanogo, gave Louisville a lead, but they were still trailing behind UCF by 14-10.
Louisville was leading with six points as the score was 20-14. Then Malik Cunningham gave the much-needed lead with a 43-yard run. James Turner helped Louisville score more with a 35-yard run.
