Federal agents spotted near MacArthur Park in Los Angeles during an unconfirmed ICE operation as crowds and city officials gathered.
Westland in Los Angles had federal agents in armoured cars hovering around the area. However, people noticed the vehicles, at about 11:20 am, as they were moving at a slower pace than the general traffic, and started crowding around it, as per reports.

No one knows for sure which agency these agents were from or what they were doing there. Eyewitness News did not see the agents detain anyone or step out to interact with the crowd. The agents drove past the park without any trouble or violence, according to the report by ABC7.

ICE agents may have raided the park

Later, it was reported that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were involved and may have been conducting a raid. Local media said that ICE agents had surrounded the park early in the morning, according to the report by Hindustan Times.

Some videos even showed federal agents on horseback entering the park from different directions. It's still unclear if the raid actually happened or if anyone was arrested or detained.

Mayor Bass tells agents to leave

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass showed up at MacArthur Park around 11:00 a.m., after hearing about what was happening. She confronted the federal agents and asked them to stop the operation, as per the report by Hindustan Times.

Mayor Bass briefly spoke to the media, but quickly got into her car and left. According to a Fox News photojournalist, Mayor Bass told someone that the agents need to leave right away and said the way they did the operation was “unacceptable.” The mayor also said that the agents had “completed their mission here” and asked when they would leave, according to the report by FOX 11.
