Yankees aim to rebound at home against struggling Angels

The Los Angeles Angels (33-37) begin a four-game series on Monday, June 16, against the New York Yankees (42-28) at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET and will be televised on MLB Network. The Yankees lead the 2025 season series 3-0.

The Angels have lost three straight on their current road trip, including a series sweep by the Baltimore Orioles. In Sunday's 11-2 loss to Baltimore, the team managed just five hits. First baseman Nolan Schanuel provided two of those, including a home run in the early innings.

Starting pitcher Max Fried allowed two earned runs over seven innings in that outing, striking out nine. Starting pitchers: Soriano and Schmidt face off

Right-hander Jose Soriano (4-5, 3.86 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Angels. In 14 starts this season, he has posted a 1.50 WHIP, with 4.4 BB/9 and 7.3 K/9 over 79 1/3 innings.

In his last appearance, Soriano recorded a no-decision after pitching seven innings of one-run ball in a 2-1, 10-inning home win against the Oakland Athletics.
