Abu Agila Mohammad Mas'ud, a Libyan bomb expert, has been taken into FBI custody. He has been handed over to the USA for further questioning in the case. The Libyan intelligence agent was accused of the 1988 bombing of an American aircraft over Lockerbie, Scotland. According to officials, this bombing was one of the biggest terrorist attacks in US history.

A decade-long pursuit attained

The arrest of the Libyan agent is the most significant achievement of the Justice Department's decades-long pursuit. The count issued criminal charges against Mr. Mas'ud for being responsible for creating the explosive device used in the bombing in 2020. The attack was terrific and resulted in the loss of 270 lives, which included 190 Americans.

Mas'ud charged with two crimes

Mas'ud is charged with two crimes, including destroying an aircraft that resulted in life loss. He was held in a Libyan jail when the Justice Department unsealed the accusations against him two years ago for unrelated crimes. The American government took unknown steps to make Mas'ud's extradition possible.
