During her tour opener at Perth’s RAC Arena in Australia, Lizzo seems to have supported singer Taylor Swift when she witnessed a concert-goer holding a sign saying ‘I Chose You Over Taylor Swift’.

The incident happened on Friday (July 14) when the “About Damn Time” singer was talking to the audience. At the time, Lizzo spotted a fan holding a sign, which said, “I Chose You Over Taylor Swift (Heart) Can I Get a Hug.”

Lizzo, while thanking fans for attending the performance, said, “I’m going to start off by saying thank you for coming to my show. I know tickets are expensive to everybody’s shows, so it means the world to me that you’re here.”


Addressing the flattering message of the fan, the pop star said, “Taylor Swift is amazing as well. And you don’t have to choose, because I’m going to get you tickets to Taylor Swift! I’m just kidding.”

Lizzo then went on to ask the crowd if Swift, who is touring stadiums in North America right now during her The Eras Tour, has already toured Australia.

“Did she already play? When does she come here? She’s not coming here?” the singer-rapper asked before joking, “How you choose me over Taylor?”

The star then autographed the sign and said, “I love TayTay too … there’s no competition here.”
