Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of rock & roll legend Elvis Presley, died at the age of 54 on Thursday.

She was 9 when she lost her father, who died of a heart attack at the age of 42 in 1977. Lisa Marie was a daughter of the musician and Priscilla Presley. The couple was married from 1967 till 1973.

Soon after the death of Elvis, Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla started dating actor Michael Edwards, who was accused of allegedly abusing the child when she was between the ages of 12 and 15.

Lisa Marie lived a life in the shadow of drug and alcohol abuse. She abused substances from the age of 13 to 17 until her mother checked her into Scientology rehab centre. During her marriage with Jackson, she became addicted to opioids in 2008.

By 2013, Lisa Marie had started to "heavily abuse cocaine". She checked into rehab at least five times.

Lisa Marie had trouble finding love. The American singer-songwriter kept her last name alive and kicking in the media with her back-to-back high-profile marriages. She had four marriages with Danny Keough, Michael Jackson, Nicolas Cage and Michael Lockwood.

Though Lisa Marie met the pop icon in 1975 when she was just 7-years-old, it wasn't until 1992 that she started an "adult friendship" with Michael Jackson.

20 days after her divorce from first husband Danny Keogh finalised, the singer tied the knot with Jackson in 1994. Their marriage lasted for two years while Jackson was facing allegations of allegedly abusing children.

When Lisa Marie met actor Nicholas Cage in 2002, she was engaged to singer John Oszajca. She broke off her engagement as sparks flew between Cage and Lisa Marie.
