The hand of a giant mech seemingly lifted superstar performer Lil Nas X with a championship trophy floating around him in the concluding minutes of the commencement ceremony for 2022's edition of the League of Legends World Championship. The mix of technical expertise and artistic vision created an impressive display.

And because of this, the creative director of Riot esports, Carrie Dunn, has lately been a little stressed. He said that “there’s anxiety” when you hoist “a cultural superstar” in the air for the finale.

Two teams that have worked all year to win the trophy are put against each other at the Worlds. Legendary Lee Sang-hyeok “Faker '', also known by the nickname the “unkillable demon king,” and his team T1 returned in this year’s edition to face fellow Korean side DRX.

Though actual games are no less appealing, the opening ceremony often steals the show.
