Lewis Hamilton demands P2 for Mercedes. Here's why

Lewis Hamilton thinks getting a P2 in the final races of this season's championship would be more beneficial for Mercedes. He says taking P2 would mean less R&D time for Mercedes next season.

In a statement, the British motorsport racing driver, Lewis Hamilton, said that pushing Mercedes to P2 is all he can dream about. He thinks it is crucial for the team and all the people working at the factory in terms of bonuses.

Why does Lewis Hamilton want to snatch P2 in the final of this championship season?

In a statement, Lewis said, "Although Ferrari has been considered an amazing car for most of the year, I think something happened to it last week. The car has shown some rare problems which can come back next time."

Lewis also mentions, "If we did manage to pull this off, I think it would be a pretty amazing comeback."


Due to this, everyone at Mercedes wants to snatch P2 away from Ferrari in the final two races of the championship. The team which gets 240 runs in a wind tunnel and CFD time stands at the 2nd podium, whereas the team with 256 goes to the third position.
