Leica Q3 is available for pre-orders at $5,995 but what new does it bring?

German camera giant’s latest addition – Leica Q3 – features a 60MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor. This enhancement also allows for an expanded digital zoom range, enabling users to crop images digitally to focal lengths of 35, 50, 75, and 90mm. Additionally, the new sensor extends the camera's ISO range from 50 to 100,000, a substantial increase over its predecessor.
Another feature is the inclusion of triple resolution technology, previously developed for the Leica M11. Furthermore, there’s an option to choose between capturing images at 60, 36, or 18MP.

In terms of design, the Q3 showcases a new three-inch 1.84m-dot tilting LCD touchscreen, a first for the Q-series, allowing users to capture images from low and high angles discreetly. Despite the new tilting screen, the camera retains its IP52 splash protection, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
For video creators the new model includes an 8K, h265, and Apple ProRes at 1080p resolution. Additionally, Leica has introduced a new macro feature on the Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens.
