The enduring arcade game Pac-Man from the 1980s served as inspiration for a brand-new, high-end Lego kit. The 2,650-piece system, which contains an illuminated coin slot, a four-way joystick, and a mechanical chasing mechanism, is intended to look like the Pac-Man arcade cabinet.

The Pac-Man Lego set includes a crank on the cabinet's side that allows you to manipulate the characters within the game's maze. Additionally, the set features a diorama where a figurine can be seen playing a mini version of the arcade cabinet. On the cabinet's top, there are rotating versions of Pac-Man, Blinky, and Clyde, the iconic ghosts from the game.

The Lego Icons Pac-Man set will be priced at $269.99 (€269.99 / £229.99) when it becomes available for general purchase on June 4th. Lego VIP members will have early access on June 1st. Notably, this price matches the cost of Lego's previous tribute to the Nintendo Entertainment System, which was released after a price increase last year. Additionally, Lego has made it clear that the Pac-Man set is intended for individuals aged 18 and above, emphasizing its target audience.

The unveiling of the Pac-Man set coincides with the 43rd anniversary of Bandai Namco (then known as Namco) conducting its initial public testing of the game in 1980. Regarded as one of the most beloved arcade games ever, Pac-Man gained immense popularity, as highlighted in Lego's press release, with a staggering 293,822 arcade units installed within seven years of its original launch.

In an enjoyable twist, the recent announcement reveals an interesting detail: according to Toru Iwatani, the original creator of Pac-Man, the game's signature yellow color was inspired by the "iconic yellow of the Lego brick."
