The 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers forward shared a clip of the session on Instagram, showing off his movement and energy during a workout in New York.
James sustained the ligament injury during the Lakers’ April playoff loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sidelining him for the past several weeks.
"Man it felt good to get back out there today for the first time since my MCL injury (Almost 8 weeks ago)," James posted. "Been at it with my rehab & training regiment to get back to form."
"Obviously not where I wanna be ultimately but off to a good start," James posted. "Damn what a GREAT FEELING!!"
The clock is ticking since James has until Sunday to decide whether to opt into his $52.2 million player contract option for the 2025–26 season. His decision could shape not only the Lakers’ offseason but the NBA landscape as a whole.
A veteran of 21 All-Star Games and a champion with Miami (2012 and 2013), Cleveland (2016), and the Lakers (2020), James remains one of the league’s most influential figures - both on and off the court.
