A federal judge has recently ruled that a woman who eventually accused Sean Diddy Combs on alleged charges of sexual assault must proceed with her lawsuit while using her actual name only and rejected her request to remain anonymous as ‘Jane Doe’, reported CNN. The woman named Jane Doe in her lawsuit allegedly claimed that Sean Diddy combs raped her in the year 2004 when she was merely 19 years old.

According to CNN, Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil emphasized on the importance of transparency during judicial proceedings while she asserted that Sean Diddy Combs has the right to defend himself and investigate the claims against him. The judge also noted that the plaintiff did not demonstrate a current threat of harm from Sean Diddy Combs as both of them are not in contact for nearly two decades and Sean Diddy Combs is currently detained and awaiting a trial.

Chances of a lawsuit dismissal, warns federal judge

Furthermore, the federal judge ruled that she must file her lawsuit under her name by November 13 or else the lawsuit will be dismissed. CNN asserted that the judge also pointed out the fact that public humiliation does not justify anonymity and highlighted the necessity for public scrutiny in such serious allegations.


The recent ruling comes amidst a wave of lawsuits against Sean Diddy Combs following his detention on alleged sex trafficking and sex racketeering charges back in September. CNN noted that Sean Diddy Combs who has already pleaded not guilty to the charges continues to deny any sort of wrongdoing whatsoever.
