In the most recent episode of Last Week Tonight on HBO, John Oliver humorously criticized Apple TV+. While discussing the operations of Dollar Tree and Dollar General stores, Oliver highlighted TikTok videos featuring retail workers expressing grievances about their working conditions. One employee even shared an incident where she was requested to reopen her store shortly after it had been robbed.

Oliver stated that an armed robbery is a traumatic event from which people need time to recover. He added that it's not something you can just ignore like a spam call or a broken light bulb or any show on Apple TV..

Oliver asked his viewers whether they were aware that Octavia Spencer had portrayed a true crime podcaster on a show named Truth Be Told for three seasons.

Earlier this year, Spencer revealed that Truth Be Told would conclude after three seasons, expressing gratitude to producers and co-stars for their creative vision throughout this remarkable journey. The legal crime drama, created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and inspired by Kathleen Barber's novel "Are You Sleeping," features Spencer in the lead role of Poppy Parnell, a podcaster reexamining the case that catapulted her to fame in pursuit of the truth.

Spencer has acting credits alongside notable names such as Aaron Paul, Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer, Merle Dandridge, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Ron Cephas Jones, and Rico E. Anderson.

Apple TV+ debuted in 2019 as Apple's subscription streaming service, featuring star-studded shows like "The Morning Show" with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, "See" with Jason Momoa, "Servant" with Lauren Ambrose, "Defending Jacob" with Chris Evans and Michelle Dockery, and the widely acclaimed comedy "Ted Lasso" starring Jason Sudeikis.
