Scotty Petterson, who saved at least a dozen lives in the mass shooting of October 1, 2017, died by suicide in 2021. On the massacre's fifth anniversary, his parents look for the lives he saved.

Scotty Petterson became an aid to multiple gunshot victims when a country-based music concert had turned violent in Las Vegas. When the concert stadium was converted into the killing field, Scotty Peterson left no time to help those around him. Scotty Peterson rushed his girlfriend and a family standing nearby to the ambulance van and made them safe.

The paramedic staff was helping other people in the concert. So, there was no medical assistance in the ambulance.

That's when Scotty Peterson's firefighter and EMT training came into effect. Scotty Peterson said he couldn't think of anything else and quickly acted upon his gut and saved as many as possible.
