Accompanied by cover art featuring a personal black-and-white photo of Del Rey, her sister Caroline "Chuck" Grant, and her niece Phoenix, the release follows her tradition of incorporating familial elements into her work. This cover comes months after she referenced John Denver in the opening track of her 2023 album, "Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd."
Del Rey has been active with several releases since her ninth studio album in March, collaborating with Holly Macve on "Suburban House" and unveiling the previously shelved 2014 recording, "Say Yes To Heaven." Recently, she performed a cover of "Unchained Melody" on the NBC holiday special Christmas at Graceland, marking her first live televised performance since 2012.
The alt-pop artist is currently nominated for four Grammy awards, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for "Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd." Her track "A&W" received nominations for Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance. Del Rey also contributed to Album of the Year nominees by Taylor Swift and Jon Batiste.
Earlier this year, Del Rey embarked on a mini-tour, emphasizing her commitment to supporting the cities she visited by donating all ticket sales revenue back to them.
