Koru: All about Jeff Bezos's $500 million superyacht that is 410 feet long

Jeff Bezos is paying approximately $500 million to build the 410-foot-long Koru which will reportedly be the world’s largest sailing yacht. Furthermore, he is spending about $75 million for the 250-foot support of the vessel going to be known as Abeona and another $30 million for a yearly maintenance cost for the both, as per a report.

Koru - Fusion of Modern Art and Classical Style, Sustainability

Koru is a classical style vessel designed by the Dykstra Naval Architecture having a navy-blue steel hull, aluminium superstructures, sweeping canoe sterns and a trio of soaring masts. Though a very little is known about the interior design, the Oceanco’s website describes the interior as a ‘timeless, contemporary style, with natural wood tones complemented by a palette of warm neutrals and beautifully patterned textile’, as per the Robb Report article.

Unlike other billionaire’s yacht, Koru is focusing on sustainability and it is also being photographed regularly while sailing. Various reports indicate that the vessel converts wave induced motion in to electrical energy and it has features of hybrid power system with large battery tanks.

Building an Exceptional Helipad, controversies surrounding the vessel and meaning of the Koru

Damen Yachting from Holland has built a huge rear deck helipad and hangar which will be enough to accommodate and Airbus ACH-135 helicopter. Koru, which eventually became a reality due to Oceanco was first came to light as Project Y721 and the Amazon founder got a hand on it during April 2023 in Gibraltar.
