Korean singer Choi Sung-bong found dead at his home day after he shared emotional note about his ‘foolish’

Choi Sung-bong was found dead at his home in southern Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong district on Tuesday, as per Korean media reports. The Korea Times has reported suicide as the possible reason for his death.

However, just a day before he was discovered dead, Choi Sung-bong shared an emotional note on social media apologizing for his "foolish” mistakes. In the note, the 33-year-old said, “From 2011 to the present, I have been receiving attention and love from so many people. I sincerely thank you and express my gratitude. I am sincerely sorry for my foolish mistakes and those who have suffered damage, and I have repeatedly made mistakes,” the report said.

Choi Sung-bong was quoted as saying by the media outlet that, “For the past two years, we have returned all those who have asked for a return of donations. Looking back, since I was young, I tried my best to enjoy a normal life, like every day for 10 years, but in the end, I'm sorry. I have no regrets about the journey of life that I have lived brilliantly. I have lived to the best of my ability and tried to have happiness every day. I am sincerely sorry to the many people who have been harmed because of me... I'm sorry to the many people who helped me”.


As per Daily Mail report, he had made false claims that he was diagnosed with multiple forms of cancer and asked fans to help him with donations. He also made headlines after he had signed a record deal with Bong Bong Company. The 33-year-old Korean singer Choi Sung-bong emerged to massive fame after he came second in Korea’s Got Talent in 2011.


Choi Sung-bong’s demise comes after just earlier this month, Korean actor Park Soo Ryun was reported dead after falling from the stairs on a visit to Jeju Island. She was known for her role in K-drama ‘SnowDrop’.
