Batting in the bottom of the seventh, Griffin instantly got back on his feet and, after a short check-up from Curve athletic trainer Casey Lee, took his place at first base and stayed in the game. While he did not have another plate appearance, he completed the final two defensive innings without any signs of trouble.
According to MLB, Griffin has been making waves in his first professional season, rapidly rising through the Minor League ranks. In addition to his time with Double-A Altoona, Griffin also showcased his skills with the Bradenton Marauders in Single-A and the Greensboro Grasshoppers in High-A.
Griffin has already advanced three levels to reach Double-A. Showcasing a stellar .330/.413/.525 slash line, he has racked up 19 home runs, 88 RBIs, and 64 stolen bases across 113 games, cementing his status as one of the game’s most exciting young prospects.
