Klobuchar claims that American Tyler Jacob has been released from Russian custody

Tyler Jacob, a native from Minnesota, was released from Russian imprisonment on Friday, according to Senator Amy Klobuchar's department.

Jacob Tyler, a native of Winona, was apprehended by Russian authorities while attempting to flee Ukraine and held for ten days, according to Klobuchar's office. According to CNN station WCCO, he was teaching English in Ukraine when the invasion began.

Tina Hauser, Jacob's mother, had managed to talk with her son via video - conferencing, and he appeared fatigued but relieved.

Jacob Quinn's father, John Quinn, stated that his son was not mistreated while in Russian custody, but that they are glad that he will be returning home. They also added that he had no complaints about the way the Russians treated him.


Klobuchar did not give any specifics on how the US was able to secure Jacob's rescue but claimed it was grateful to measures spearheaded by the US Embassy in Moscow.

Jacob's family stated that they have no idea how long it will take him to move to the United States. But they are optimistic it will be soon enough.
