A family of music lovers gave birth to the King of Pop Michael Jackson on August 29, 1958, in Garay, Indiana, in the US. Michael Jackson was the sixth child of the couple Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson. Katherine instilled folk and devotional songs in her family.

The Jackson boys formed a family band called The Jackson Five, which found great success at amateur shows throughout the mid-west, and Jackson's talent started to emerge during these performances. However, Michael Jackson's singing ability, smooth dancing movements, and stage presence allowed him to stand out from the crowd, become the band's focus, and also attracted pianist Taylor's attention.

In addition, the boy band received a lot of support from Jackson's 1968 performance at the Apollo Theatre in New York City thanks to the notable attendance of singer Diana Ross.

Michael Jackson's dancing prowess was revealed in 1970 through his autobiography named "Moonwalk," in which he discussed his background in singing as well as his unique dance routines, which later came to be known as "Michael Jackson's Dance."
