Kim Kardashian fails bar exam again after failing the ‘baby bar’ three times; is she still a lawyer?

Kim Kardashian is a lawyer, yes, well, almost. And that’s after failing the bar exam more than once. In Ryan Murphy’s new legal drama All’s Fair, the former wife of Kanye West plays a fierce attorney, but in real life, she’s still working on getting that official “Esq.” next to her name.

The reality star shared the update on Saturday, November 8, via Instagram story, admitting, “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet.” Six years, countless study sessions, and one hit TV show later, Kim’s proving that persistence is half the battle; the other half is apparently California’s bar exam.

The 44-year-old continued, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far.”


Kardashian ended her post with a motivational message: “Falling short isn’t failure – it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!!”

Kim Kardashian’s six-year law journey continues

Kardashian began studying law in 2019 and graduated from her law school program in May 2025. Her journey has been widely documented, as she has often spoken about her goal of becoming a criminal justice lawyer inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.

In December 2021, Kardashian announced that she had passed the “baby bar” exam, the first of two tests required to become a practicing lawyer in California. She also revealed at that time that she failed thrice in 2 years.

During her October 24 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Kardashian shared her long-term aspirations within the legal field.

“Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K. and be a trial lawyer,” she said. “That’s what I really want,” quotes Parade.

Legally no, Kim Kardashian is not a lawyer, but she could flaunt if she wanted to. As she appears as a glamorous and high-powered divorce attorney in the new episodes of All’s Fair, which are released every Tuesday at 3 a.m. on Hulu and Disney+. The ensemble cast also includes Teyana Taylor, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close.

However, despite its star-studded lineup, the legal drama has not been well received by critics and currently holds a 5% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
