The footage, posted by the artist on Saturday, appears to show an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter flying unusually low near his Nashville residence, as per a report. Following the video’s circulation, the Army reportedly said that it has launched an administrative review, as per the Politico report. According to spokesperson Maj. Montrell Russell, the review will assess the mission and determine whether all regulations and airspace requirements were followed. He added that appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found.AH-64 Apache helicopter low flyover raises questions
Russell said, “The Army is aware of a video circulating online that appears to show AH‑64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence in the Nashville area,” adding, “Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations,” as quoted by Politico.Political reactions follow Kid Rock helicopter clip
The video also sparked a political exchange. Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, referenced California Governor Gavin Newsom in his post, writing that the moment reflected a level of respect the governor would “never know,” while expressing support for the country and those who have served it.A spokesperson for Newsom responded briefly, calling it “waste, fraud, abuse,” as quoted by Politico.
The two have had public disagreements before. Earlier this year, Newsom had said on social media that he was “banning” the artist from California, following an exercise video Kid Rock appeared in with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kid Rock has been a visible supporter of US president Donald Trump and has aligned himself with the MAGA movement. He performed at the 2024 Republican National Convention and also appeared at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show,” which was held as an alternative to the official NFL halftime performance by Bad Bunny at the 2026 Super Bowl.
