Kevin Durant leaves Nets vs Heat game with knee surgery to undergo MRI

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant to undergo MRI after his right knee got injured, team coach Jacque Vaughn revealed.

He got injured in the third quarter of the game when Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat was blocked around the rim by Ben Simmons of the Nets. He fell back into Kevin Durant's knee.

Durant tried rubbing his knees and went back to the locker room for a checkup but had to stay back.


With the record of 18 wins out of 20 games, the Nets tried to remain strong for Durant's injury as it would not be too serious. They all are in great spirits and supportive of each other

Though the seriousness of the injury is still not clear, Durant has had a past of knee injuries. On January 15, 2022, his left knee got injured in a match with New Orleans Pelicans, and had to rest for a month.

In 2017 too, he injured his MCL and a tibial bone bruise when Zaza Pachulia former Golden State Warriors teammate fell into his knee.


Nets guard Joe Harris said it to be a knockdown for the team if he is out.
Nic Claxton said it was time for everyone to step up and hope he would be available for the next game.

Durant has helped his team this season by averaging 30 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists this season taking the Nets back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
The next game for the Nets will be on Thursday against Boston Celtics.
