Kennywood amusement park shooting: All details that you need to know

Police and EMS overspread Kennywood Park in West Mifflin late Saturday night after multiple people were shot inside the park, cops confirmed early Sunday morning.

A boy of age 15 and a man of age 39 got shot in their leg, and another 15-year-old suffered a leg wound. The shooting occurred at 10:50 pm and near the Music Express amusement ride.

One of the two teens was taken to the hospital and is stable. The older man was treated at a hospital and was released later.





The third boy escaped and was taken to a hospital by his family, is now stable. West Mifflin police and County police served at the park and found the three victims. The police have not arrested anyone but have witnesses who said two juvenile groups got involved in the shooting.

A Black man in a dark mask and black hoodie is described as the shooter. Officers found a handgun at the scene. Westmoreland and Allegheny county emergency crews were alerted and dispatched to reach the scene. State police were also present. It was the Phantom Fall Fest's first night on September 24 and is now canceled for September 25.

Kennywood stated it is their top priority to keep their team members and guests safe. They mentioned that West Mifflin, Allegheny County, and park security responded immediately. All the guests went out of the park, as Kennywood confirmed at 12:30 am.
