US President Joe Biden held a reception for the 2022 winners at the White House, where he acknowledged the winners' contribution and mentioned a U2 song. He said that in the present time of hate and anger in America, the need is to carry each other, like the lyrics in U2's song.

A star-studded event
The Kennedy Center Awards venue was a packed house on Sunday with the glittering presence of celebrities and political personalities. Several stars were present at the event, like Matt Damon, Patti LaBelle, Sean Penn, US Vice President Kamala Harris, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks and Sesame Street's Big Bird.
