The storm Kay, on weakening, caused heavy rainfall in Southern California. Many places that experienced flash floods, especially those with sensitive soil, are still under immense threat. The meteorologists have confirmed that Southern California, Southern Nevada, and Northwestern Arizona areas have comparatively greater hazard warnings as the storm continues to move away from the eastern Pacific by the end of the week.

There are warnings regarding the heavy rainfall, which include:
  • Rainfall could surpass up to 2 inches in some areas by this weekend.
  • Flood alerts are made in different regions.
  • The areas that are at a higher risk of flash floods include Las Vegas and Palm Springs too.
  • Lightening and thunder are additional to the chaos created in the state.
The increase in the cloud covering the state is believed to bring relief to the record-breaking temperature of the west. The Fairview Fire of California that cost two lives soon after breaking out in the Southeast of Los Angeles was, to some extent, checked by the rains.

Kay was withdrawn from the National Hurricane Center. On Saturday, it was reported that there were no tropical cyclones at present in the Pacific zone covered by Kay.
