It was meant to be a polished New Year’s Eve round-up. Instead, it turned into an unexpected internet moment. Karoline Leavitt, the 28-year-old White House Press Secretary, is facing online teasing after critics noticed she used a Bad Bunny track in an Instagram video, despite previously making it clear she isn’t a fan of the global superstar.

The resurfaced clip has fueled fresh debate, especially after her public comments ahead of the Super Bowl and the Grammy Awards put her squarely at odds with the rapper.

Did Karoline Leavitt Use a Bad Bunny Song?

In a 2025 New Year’s Eve Instagram post, Karoline shared a personal video montage set to a mash-up titled 2025 End Now. At the very start of the track, listeners could clearly hear DTMF, one of Bad Bunny’s biggest songs and his most popular track on Spotify, as per a report by The Mirror.

The music played over clips of Karoline inside the Oval Office with her son Niko, as well as moments from the 2025 Super Bowl and time spent with her family. She also included professional highlights, featuring President Donald Trump among the snapshots.

It didn’t take long for eagle-eyed viewers to notice the song choice. "Not her using bad bunny on her stuff," one person wrote in the comments.

Another added, "She probably has no clue lmao," while a third joked, "Bad bunny playing for the recap is the funniest shit I’ve seen so far this year. And we’re only 19 days in she lowkey loves him like the rest of us."

The discovery quickly spread online, especially given her recent criticism of the artist, as per a report by The Mirror.

What did she say about Bad Bunny?

Just two days after the Grammy Awards, Karoline was asked about Bad Bunny’s acceptance speech, where he criticized ICE enforcement.

"Before I say thanks to God, I'm going to say: ICE out," the musician said while accepting his award. "We're not savage, we're not animals, we're not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans."

Karoline responded sharply. She described it as "very ironic and frankly sad" that celebrities who "live in gated communities, with private security, with millions of dollars to spend protecting themselves" were speaking out against law enforcement, as per a report by The Mirror.

She continued, "You didn't hear this same type of uproar from celebrities in Hollywood when the previous administration allowed an invasion of our nation's borders and allowed innocent women and girls like Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley to be killed, raped, and murdered at the hands of people who should have never been in our country in the first place."

Her remarks placed her firmly on the opposite side of the debate surrounding the Grammy moment.

What happened around the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

The tension didn’t end there. Ahead of the Super Bowl halftime show, Karoline was asked whether President Donald Trump would watch Bad Bunny’s performance or tune into Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show instead.

"I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny," she said during the press briefing. "I must say that."

However, Trump later revealed that he had watched Bad Bunny’s performance. Posting on Truth Social, he described it as an "absolutely terrible" show. A video from his Mar-a-Lago watch party confirmed he had chosen to watch Bad Bunny rather than the Turning Point event, as per a report by The Mirror.

The Instagram clip resurfaced amid reports that Karoline is facing “immense mental strain” following her nine-word “crying” confession. The renewed attention on her social media activity has only intensified scrutiny.
