Kandi Burruss opens up about divorce with Todd Tucker, says issues ‘brewing for a while’; Kandi and Todd set to spend 'Thanksgiving' together as family

Kandi Burruss has finally opened up about her split from husband Todd Tucker, revealing that their divorce didn’t come out of nowhere. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said the couple had been experiencing growing tension for some time, describing the issues as 'brewing for a while'. Speaking on Amazon Live on Monday, Kandi said, "Sometimes things don't work out. It just is what it is." The couple, who married in 2014, share two children - Ace (9) and Blaze (6) - while Kandi is also mom to 23-year-old Riley from her previous relationship with Russell Spencer.


"My life has been going crazy lately. I’m gonna be very honest with you, I am up and down. Obviously, going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing. Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with friends," Kandi further said on the show. Despite filing for divorce from Todd, 52, last week after 11 years of marriage, Kandi shared on Amazon Live that the two were together at their daughter Blaze’s 6th birthday party the very next day. Kandi added that she and Todd still plan to spend Thanksgiving together as a family.



Kandi reflected on her time on RHOA, admitting that she often couldn’t 'keep moments to myself when I got upset', which meant viewers would frequently see her breaking down on camera. But when it comes to her personal life off the show, she said she prefers to keep emotional moments out of the public eye. Her divorce from Todd was one of the few difficult experiences she managed to navigate privately, she added.


During her broadcast, Kandi also acknowledged that the breakup had been building for quite some time.

"So all the times you’ve been seeing me online (all smiles) means nothing," she confessed. "I’ve been going through it, child. I’ve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me."

Later in the broadcast, Kandi shared that she’s doing as well as I can, though she admitted it’s been 'difficult' seeing people on social media create their own stories about the breakup. She also emphasized that she has 'no regrets' about her marriage to Todd.
