A Secret Service agent who is in responsibility of Kamala Harris' security, allegedly sexually assaulted a female staffer of the reigning VP, according to a Daily Beast report. The incident apparently occurred during a planning trip for a Harris campaign that ended up getting canceled after the Vice President decided to go to Atlanta instead.

Secret Service agent groped staffer after being drunk

Sources claimed that the Secret Service officer was very sloshed after dining and drinking with several staffers at a local restaurant, and then groped and harassed the female staffer when he came back to the aide's hotel room. Moreover, reports suggest that others were also witness to this very incident. The agent was so drunk, that he was kicked out of the hotel room and made to sleep in the hallway and pictures were clicked of him in such a condition.

Agent called back to headquarters

According to the service rule books of Secret Service agents, personnel are not allowed to consume alcohol withing 10 hours of reporting for duty, something he may have broken amid this incident. Daily Beast report claims that he has been asked to return to the Secret Service headquarters immediately for being a part of an investigation into the incident, which will be conducted by a body, that looks into such disciplinary matters.

Moreover this could fall under a misconduct investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility, as per reports. Meanwhile, this is the second time the Secret Service is in a major fix, the first being the instance of not being able to detect and precent the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, something that could have taken away the former President's life, and landed the nation into a national crisis.
