Now his lawyer has spoken out for the first time. According to 'Page Six', Edward Burke Jr has said in a statement, "“[We] look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. We will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA’s office.”

Timberlake was arrested on Tuesday

The 'Cry Me a River' singer was taken into custody in New York for driving while intoxicated. Timberlake was arrested and formally charged on Tuesday morning. The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said that the singer was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations, including not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane of travel. The 'SexyBack' singer was arraigned and released from custody on his recognizance.

Next hearing on June 26

Edward Burke Jr is an eminent attorney based in the Hamptons, and he has represented Matt Lauer, Lizzie Grubman, Jason Kidd and other VIP clients. The next date for hearing in the court has been fixed on June 26, but Timberlake will not have to appear personally in the court.


Timberlake refuses to take a breathalyzer test

The singer was criticized after having dinner with pals on Monday night at Sag Harbor’s historic American Hotel, where “there were cops stationed outside.” He was driving a gray 2025 BMW vehicle when he failed a field sobriety test and repeatedly refused to take a breathalyzer test.

According to Page Six, the police officer was young and he did not know who the pop star was." He could not recognize him or his name. Timberlake claimed to have taken only one
martini at the posh Long Island hotel before following friends home. However, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was found on his breath during the investigation.
