Presidential pardon ends Chrisleys' incarceration

On May 28, 2025, Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from federal prison following full pardons issued by President Donald Trump. The couple had been convicted in 2022 on charges of bank fraud and tax evasion, resulting in a 12-year sentence for Todd and a 7-year sentence for Julie. President Trump's decision to pardon the Chrisleys was influenced by advocacy from their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, who argued that her parents faced politically motivated prosecution. Trump described their punishment as "pretty harsh" and personally informed Savannah of the pardons.
