Judge Ketanji Brown to be the first Black woman in US Supreme Court
The President of The United States nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court, and she is set to make history. The Senate Judiciary Committee will see Judge Jackson kick off a one-day-long hearing on Monday.

Schumer sees the hearing on television as Jackson's chance for her introduction to the USA. Schumer stated that an African American woman has never come in front of the Judiciary Committee as a nominee. He also stated that the American public would witness her competence and her quality of being a Justice.
She took part in one-on-one meetings with the senators, and the hearings are a fruit of that labor. She has met with 44 senators and each member of the Judiciary. She is also expected to take more meetings before the final vote.
Senator Josh Hawley sees Jackson as someone who is not as harsh on sex-related offenses, and we expect there to be fireworks in the hearing. He accused Jackson, saying that there isn't a single case where she gave a sentence according to the guidelines recommended for child porn offenders. He stated that if anyone showed him one, he would be happy if he was deemed wrong.
On the other hand, Andrew Bates, the White House's spokesperson, stated that Jackson is a mother of two. Leading conservative judges, law enforcement organizations, and crime survivors have endorsed her nomination. He stated that Senator Hawley had cherry-picked misinformation.
Andrew Bates also stated that most sentences related to child sex offenses were in consonance or even greater than what the guidelines recommend.
Hawley stated that he was unaware of such cases. Accusations by Hawley were seen on many tweets and in interviews.
