JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon could be Trump’s pick to head the Treasury in his new term

In an interview, Donald Trump praised the JP Morgan CEO and said that he is considering him for an important position in the Cabinet. Trump is looking to win the upcoming US Presidential Election in November and secure a second term in office.

Politics is not constant. It is constantly evolving events that influence the outcomes of individuals, state and parties. After lashing out at JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon earlier, Donald Trump was full of praises for him. Dimon too has extended his whole hearted support to the Republican Party’s official presidential nominee ahead of the election in November.

Speaking in an interview, Trump indicated that he may consider the CEO of the top-notch company for an important position in the Cabinet, if he were to win the presidential election in November. Dimon who is expected to continue as the CEO for the next three years has expressed his interest in politics.

Important cabinet position:

Speaking to the Bloomberg Businessweek, Trump praised Dimon and said that he respected him. On being asked if we could consider Dimon to be a part of his cabinet, Trump answered in the affirmative. On further questioning if he could be the Treasury Secretary, Trump said that he was considering him for this important cabinet position.


Earlier confrontation:

Dimon had earlier called Trump’s competitor Nikki Haley as better than Trump. He had called on the voters to support her when the Republican Party was holding its primaries. Trump had also called Dimon “a highly over rated globalist”. He had said that Dimon had come begging to the White House.

What has changed?

Earlier in March, Nikki Haley ended her campaign. On Tuesday, she supported Trump after he received the presidential nomination. Dimon too had earlier praised Trump on various policy related issues. He supported Trump’s taxation policies, China policy and other important matters including immigration.

Jamie Dimon:

He is the CEO of JP Morgan and will continue to remain the CEO for a little over another three years. He has expressed his interest in politics and said he would like to serve the US, in one way or the other.
