Jordan Love threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers defeated the Washington Commanders 27-18 on Thursday night, improving to 2-0 for the first time since 2020. Tight end Tucker Kraft delivered a breakout performance, recording six catches for a career-best 124 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter that ended Washington’s comeback hopes.

Love, who finished 19 of 31, also connected with Romeo Doubs on a 5-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Running back Josh Jacobs added 84 yards on 23 carries and scored on a 2-yard run that capped a 92-yard drive, helping Green Bay build a 14-3 halftime lead.

Washington’s offense struggled early, managing just 11 yards in the opening quarter. Quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 24 of 42 passes for 200 yards and two late touchdowns - a 20-yarder to Zach Ertz and a 10-yarder to Deebo Samuel - but it wasn’t enough to cut the deficit. The Commanders also endured key injuries, with running back Austin Ekeler suffering a right Achilles injury and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. leaving with a quadriceps issue.

The Packers’ defense stifled Washington for much of the night, extending Green Bay’s dominance at home in this matchup. Washington hasn’t won on the road against the Packers since 1988, and its last victory at Lambeau Field came in 1986.

Key plays included a 57-yard completion from Love to Kraft and a sideline grab by Malik Heath that set up Jacobs’ score. The Packers sealed the win with steady execution in the fourth quarter.
