The Daily Show host Jon Stewart has officially invited world's richest person Elon Musk on his show after the latter expressed his desire to talk to him if his interview was aired unedited.

In the latest episode, Stewart said he would be "delighted" to host the Tesla and SpaceX CEO on the show, Variety reported.

What Elon Musk said

Many anticipated a potential one-on-one between Musk and Stewart ever since the billionaire shared his willingness to appear on the show. However, Musk put forward one condition for Stewart, a frequent critic, stating on X that he will only do it if the show gets aired "unedited".

Tagged Musk and Stewart, an X user asked the Tesla CEO to appear on The Daily Show.

In reply, Musk wrote, "I will do it if the show airs unedited."

Jon Stewart's formal invitation

On Monday night, Stewart began his monologue by inviting Musk to come on the program.

On the show, Stewart told his audience that he “made a bit of a critique” of the newly-added Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) last week. Musk serves as the leader of the DOGE.

Poking fun at Musk's familial drama, Stewart said he was ready for the "unedited" interview.

“After a prayerful week with my family — well, a family. It is a family hall pass situation,” Variety quoted Stewart as saying.

Stewart said that after thinking about Musk's offer, he realised that this is actually how the interviews in studios normally air, "unedited".

So, sure. We’d be delighted," he said, and went on to add that the proposed interview could run for "15 minutes, an hour, two hours, whatever."

Jon Stewart attacks Elon Musk

Earlier, Musk called Stewart a “propagandist” on social media and even claimed that the TV host “used to be more bipartisan.”

Addressing Musk's claims, Stewart told the world's richest person that he was giving "too little credit” to him.

Stewart then reminded Musk, who he said wears a custom-made "dark MAGA hat," about how he went on to spend $270 million to get Donald Trump elected as the 47th President of the United States during the November 5 election last year.

Stewart said that Musk believes that the TV show host is "just too partisan," adding that he really is not sure what bipartisan means for Musk.

The TV host stated that it will be "great" to have Musk on the show, adding that he supports the idea of "efficiency and delivering better services to the American public in cheaper and more efficient ways".
