On Monday, Meredith took to Instagram to share that she gave birth to their son last week, New York Post reported.
Meredith Gaudreau announces baby’s arrival on Instagram
Meredith shared multiple photographs of the newborn as well as her two other children on the social media platform. She said that the third child has been named as Carter Michael Gaudreau, having the same middle name as his late father.She added that the child was born on April 1 and looks "exactly the same as his daddy".
The baby weighs "8lb 3 ounces" and measures 20.5 inches, she noted.
"I love you so much my baby! We are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever," read the post.
Meredith is already a mother to two-year-old daughter, Noa, and son Johnny, 1.
From the images shared by her, it seems that the little one already has the same affinity for hockey like his father as he was seen having a No. 13 uniform as well as a trophy next to him.

Tragedy with Gaudreau brothers
In August last year, Johnny and his younger brother, Matthew Gaudreau, died after getting struck by a suspected drunk driver. The two siblings were cycling around a rural road in their hometown New Jersey's Salem County. The fatal incident took place on the eve of their sister Katie’s wedding.At that time, Johnny was 31, while his brother was 29 years old.
Soon after, the vehicle's driver, Sean Higgins, was taken into custody by police and later charged with two counts of death by auto. He was also held guilty for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, reckless driving as well as possession of an open container.
The bicycle vs car accident had sent shockwaves across the National Hockey League (NHL), where Johnny remained active for a total of 11 seasons, representing teams like Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Meredith Gaudreau's pregnancy announcement
At the memorial service for the Gaudreau brothers, Meredith shared that she was expecting her and Johnny's third child.“We’re actually a family of five,” she said at that time, adding that she was in her ninth week. She stated that this was a "total surprise" for them.
Madeline Gaudreau, the widow of Matthew, has reshared Meredith's post on Instagram Stories and said she has welcomed her "second nephew".
In December last year, Madeline gave birth to her first child with Matthew, named Tripp.
