'John Wick: Chapter 4' cast remembers Lance Reddick at LA premiere. Details here

Hollywood veteran Lance Reddick was remembered with great reverence at the "John Wick: Chapter 4" premiere in LA on Monday.

Despite his unexpected passing at the age of 60 on Friday, Reddick's presence was felt during the thundering standing ovation and the mention in the onscreen credits.

To honor the prolific performer, his co-stars and other attendees donned blue ribbons. Lead actor Keanu Reeves, Rina Sawayama, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Donnie Yen, and director Chad Stahelski wore ribbons on the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.


During the premiere night, Lionsgate chair Joe Drake started the event with Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski and asked for a robust and appreciative round of applause for Lance Reddick.



Drake described Reddick as an exceptional human being, an outstanding actor, and an integral part of the franchise.

The audience's cheers gradually transformed into a standing ovation to honor the beloved character actor, who had played the role of hotel concierge Charon in the "John Wick" series since the first film in 2014.

Although "John Wick: Chapter 4" had already been shown in New York, Toronto, and at SXSW in Austin, a decision was quickly made on Friday to update the film's final credits with a dedication card for the LA premiere.

Director Chad Stahelski revealed that the news of Lance Reddick's passing was devastating for the entire team. However, during a meeting with Keanu Reeves, no decision was necessary as everyone knew what the right thing to do was. They promptly updated the credits to honor Reddick's memory.

On the red carpet for the L.A. premiere, Reeves spoke highly of Reddick, calling him a "remarkable artist" and describing him as a person with grace, dignity, and passion for his craft.
