John McFall becomes world’s first astronaut with a physical disability to be recruited by ESA; Here’s more about him

The European Space Agency recruited a fresh batch of astronauts in its folds but what has made headlines is the presence of British Paralympic athlete John McFall. Two other female recruits are Dr Meganne Christian and Dr Rosemary Coogan.

Agencies
John McFall, aged 41, is the first astronaut with a physical impairment, or para-astronaut, to be recruited by the European space agency in a move to remove the hindrance that prevents disabled individuals from participating in space missions.

The space program wants to develop space gear modifications that allow individuals with physical limitations to serve as crew members in future missions. Dr Rosemary Coogan and Dr Meganne Christian will also accompany John McFall in the mission.

Remarkably, the first UK woman to join ESA as a career astronaut, Dr Rosemary Coogan served in the Royal Navy reserve and earned a PhD in astronomy before working for the French Space Agency.

Coogan is only the second person from the UK to join the agency’s astronaut corps after Tim Peake. She will immediately start training as she has had previous experience.

Dr Meganne Christian, a 34-year-old scientist, born in the United Kingdom who worked in Antarctica before lecturing in Italy on problem-solving and decision-making, is the third recruit.

A new initiative for ESA, the reserve consists of astronauts who passed the selection procedure but will continue to work at their regular occupations until an opportunity for a mission comes.

Zydus Lifesciences found support around the Rs 319 levels in May, which also roughly coincides with previous intermediate lows of the stock. The stock has subsequently risen and made higher bottoms in the last few months.

In the process, the stock has broken out of a tight range. Momentum readings like the 14-week RSI, too, are in rising mode and not overbought, which is encouraging.

With the intermediate technical setup too looking positive, we believe the stock has the potential to move higher in the coming weeks.

Divis Lab is in a short-term downtrend as it has been making lower tops and lower bottoms for the last few weeks. On Friday, the stock broke the recent support of Rs 3,562, indicating the downtrend looks set to continue.

Technical indicators are giving negative signals as the stock is now trading below the 20-day and 50-day SMA. Momentum readings like the 14-day RSI are in decline mode, which implies potential for more downsides.

We therefore expect the stock to correct further in the coming sessions.
