Jodie Burrage, Katie Boulter storm Nottingham Open semi-finals
British tennis players, Jodie Burrage and Katie Boulter, have stormed into the Nottingham Open semi-finals.

Now, Boulter will face either Swiss Viktorija Golubic or another British player Heather Watson.
Both Jodie Burrage and Katie Boulter have entered the WTA semi-finals for the first time. Earlier this week, Boulter also became British number one for the first time. She replaced Emma Raducanu.
She needed to beat Dart to remain British number one for another week. Dart injured her right hamstring and was struggling, yet she managed to break the serve. Boulter ultimately won the match and moved into the last four. She praised Dart in the post-match interview and said that it was difficult to beat her as she was a tough competitor.

Burrage placed 131st in the world list and broke Frech’s serve twice in the first set. She could not get two points in the tenth game of the third set. However, she won the match ultimately. Tension prevailed between the two players before they shook hands after the game came to an end.
There was controversy too. As an injured Dart moved out of the game, Boulter tapped her head twice. Dart said that Boulter was doing it towards her and called the gesture ‘unprofessional’. Boulter denied it and said that she does it after every game and that there was nothing personal.
Now Burrage will play either Elizabeth Mandlik of the U.S. or Eliz Cornet of France. It was a glorious day for British tennis as four British women reached the semi-finals of a WTA Tour event for the first time. In men’s tennis, Britain’s George Loffhagen lost to fifth-seeded Dominik Koepfer 5-7, 6-4, 3-6.
