The rumour started when a news outlet published a headline that stated the sad demise of Jim Carrey. Talking about his deteriorating health, the headline gave readers a link to a video that captured his last words to his fans and his loved ones.
While readers were confused about the headline, it turned out to be nothing more than a clickbait website that had no relation to Jim Carrey or the truth.
The actor is alive and in the best of health. As reported till June 2022, Carrey is living at his home in Hollywood and enjoying his life.
In April 2022, Carrey, however, stated that he was thinking of retiring from Hollywood. He made this statement when promoting his latest movie ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’. Speaking about his retirement, Carrey said that, according to him, no other celebrity would talk about retiring as long as there is time. He, however, has had enough. He said that he had done enough, and he was enough. Whether the actor would retire or not is yet to be seen. Also, he did not talk about any specific time for his retirement.
Starting his career as a stand-up comedian at 15, Jim Carrey began acting in the 1990s. His first significant role was in 1994 in the movie ‘Ace Venture: Pet Detective’. Most of his famous movies were released in the 1990s. They include ‘Dumb and Dumber with Jeff Daniels, ‘The Mask’ with Cameron Diaz in 1994 and ‘Liar Liar’ in 1997. Other popular movies to his name are ‘The Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ in 2000, ‘Bruce Almighty in 2003 and ‘Yes Man’ in 2008. Carrey also starred in the TV show ‘Kidding’, a comedy-drama between 2018 and 2020.
