Jewish communities in New York told to be vigilant this weekend, say reports
In New York, Jewish communities seem to have been warned to be vigilant this weekend after new threats have been made on social media, as per reports.

In both New York and New Jersey, security has been beefed up at synagogues and temples in the wake of the threats, which came in the form of social media posts, as per reports.
The threats look to declare Saturday as a national "Day of Hate." By these moves, extremists seem to be urging people to harass and target Jewish communities, the reports said.
Jewish leaders have asked people to not be afraid, but be careful.
Jason Shames, CEO, Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, said that he would say if you are a regular temple and prayer observer, you should go and live life as you usually do. The issue is to be vigilant and self-aware about your environment and what's happening around you.
In Manhattan, Temple Emanu-El has announced a "Day of Resolve" in response to these threats. The temple is also hosting an outdoor Shabbat service, which will be held on the front steps of its Fifth Avenue sanctuary.
Bruce Blakeman, Executive, Nassau County said, "Preparations have been made to meet any threat to any community or religious institution in Nassau County.”
Blakeman added that he is confident that police are ready to tackle if there is any violence or intimidation, which will not be tolerated.
