Interestingly, comedian Jerry Seinfeld would choose coffee given that he pitched the idea of "Comedians in Cars" to Starbucks's former CEO, Howard Schultz, back when it was only a bean of an idea and was turned down.
The series premiered on Crackle in 2012 and ran for a total of nine seasons until being picked up by Netflix. The latest eleventh season of the show premiered in 2019.

The book's oral history includes chapters on topics including getting started in comedy, building relationships, mastering the craft of humor, and discussing the television program "Seinfeld," among others. One such chapter discusses the infamous Starbucks incident. Seinfeld provides an introduction, and episode transcripts are also included in the book.
