Netflix has launched the trailer for its upcoming animated series, Jentry Chau vs The Underworld. The show is set to debut on December 5, 2024.

Plot

The series follows Jentry Chau, a Chinese-American teenager living in a Texas town. She discovers a demon king is hunting her because of her supernatural powers. Jentry has spent her life trying to suppress these powers. She must now confront monsters from the underworld while managing the challenges of high school.

Her great-aunt Gugu, a weapons expert, and a jiangshi guide her through this fight. The series explores Jentry's struggle to fit in at school while dealing with her abilities and the threat of demons.

Cast and Characters

Ali Wong voices Jentry Chau, the lead character. Lori Tan Chinn plays Jentry’s aunt Gugu and Bowen Yang voices Ed, Jentry’s sidekick. The cast also includes Lucy Liu, Jimmy O. Yang, Sheng Wang, A.J. Beckles and Woosung Kim.

Production

The series has 13 episodes and is produced by Netflix Animation and Titmouse, Inc. Echo Wu is the showrunner and executive producer. Ali Wong and Aron Eli Coleite also serve as executive producers.
