One such post was a video posted on X by Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee and current vice president, in which she addressed the Puerto Rican people and denounced recent remarks made by a speaker at a Donald Trump rally.


On October 27, Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian and podcaster, opened for the former president at Madison Square Garden. When Hinchcliffe described Puerto Rico as a floating island of garbage during his speech, the audience was uneasy, and there was an online backlash.
