Jennifer Garner appreciates ex-husband Ben Affleck on Father’s Day with a captivating post

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may have ended their marriage in 2018, but this Father’s Day, their partnership as co-parents took center stage in a heartfelt tribute shared by Garner. The Alias star posted a touching message on Sunday(June 15) on Instagram Stories featuring a rare throwback photo of Affleck holding one of their young children, likely taken during the early years of their 13-year marriage. The caption read simply: “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot.”

The former couple, who share three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, have long been praised for maintaining a close and respectful relationship after their divorce. In a recent interview for GQ's April 2025 issue, Affleck spoke candidly about his enduring appreciation for Garner.

“I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner,” he said. “She’s wonderful and great, and we work together well.”


Their story, once the subject of constant tabloid scrutiny, has matured into one of Hollywood’s rare examples of effective and amicable co-parenting.

The couple, who first met on the sets of Pearl Harbor (2001) and later co-starred in Daredevil (2003), began dating in 2004 after Affleck’s high-profile split from Jennifer Lopez. Garner, too, was newly single after her divorce from actor Scott Foley.

Married in 2005, they separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018. Despite the split, both have frequently shown up for each other and their children, including attending school functions, birthday parties, and family outings together.

They were photographed at Samuel’s 13th birthday party in March 2025, where Garner playfully aimed a paintball gun while Affleck stood beside her. Though the photos sparked speculation, sources close to both parties insisted their bond remains rooted in friendship, not romance. Garner has been in a long-term relationship with businessman John Miller since 2018.

Affleck, who briefly rekindled his relationship with Lopez in 2021 and married her in 2022, is once again single following their reported split in late 2024. Still, he continues to prioritize family over fame, telling GQ that being present for his kids, including walking them to school and being home at night, is what matters most to him now.
